Hamblin and Sanigar both second in Lacock 10k

WESTBURY Harriers’ Alex Hamblin finished runner-up in the Lacock 10k road race yesterday.

Hamblin clocked a time of 36mions 39secs to finish just over a minute behind winner Andrew Kirkup (35:32) of Lonely Goat RC.

Also making the top ten was Southville Running Club’s Chris Benson in eighth (40:07) while Bristol & West AC’s Liz Sanigar was 10^th overall, second female and first veteran.

Top woman was Rebecca Carver (40:18).

In the half marathon event Rachel Stowell of Bitton Road Runners finished sixth overall, second female and top veteran in 1:28. 48.

Just behind was Westbury Harriers’ Ian Gawinowski in 1:29.17.

Bristol & West’s Annabel Granger was fifth woman and first veteran over 45 in the Exeter half marathon, recording a time of 1:23.21.

Further down the field Thornbury Running Club’s Mark West finished 37^th place (1:26.11) while Weston AC’s Rob Robertson also made the top fifty (47^th, 1:27.38).

There were 275 finishers.
