TWO local athletes have been selected to represent the England South West at the forthcoming Sainsbury’ UK School Games.
Westbury Harriers’ 16-year-old Ellie Wallace (pictured) and Anton Mills of Bristol & West AC in Manchester from September 3rd-6th. Wallace, who was fourth in the English Schools’ Championships, will run the 1500m and Mills the 800m.
Also in the team are the Team Bath AC pair of Anna Burt (800m) and Will Stockley, who has replaced the unavailable Tom Mortimer of Stroud AC in the 3000m.
The England South West squad is drawn from the following counties – Avon, Berk, Bucks, Channel Islands Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Gloucestershire, Hampshire, Somerset, Sussex and Wiltshire.
The local runners are among 1,600 youngsters taking part in this year’s Games and will compete across 12 sports, seven of which include disability disciplines, at the four-day spectacular which is supported by National Lottery funding from Sport England and delivered by the Youth Sport Trust.
