Davis is top local man at opening Gwent League race

JOSH Davis of North Somerset AC was the best placed local runner in the opening race of the new Gwent Cross Country League season at Bridgend. Davis finished an excellent fifth behind four Welsh club runner.

Stroud’s Aaron Phelps also made the top ten in eighth and Mark Edwards was the leading Bristol & West runner in 15th as he led the squad of Jarlath McKenna (25th), David Awde (33rd), Rob Stewart (34th), T Dobra (60th) and A Salmon (84th) to third place in the team competition.
