BATH international ultra distance runner Damian Hall ran away with the marathon at the Bath Running Festival on Sunday.
In blisteringly hot conditions Hall, who lives in Corsham, quickly took control of the race to win by almost 24 minutes in a time of 3hrs 34mins 26secs.
“I really enjoyed the race and was using it as preparation for the UTMB (Ultra Trail du Mont-Blanc) event in the Alps next month.
“It is a beautiful course with outstanding views over Bath, excellent aid stations with superb volunteers along the course and it is well marked.”
Hall’s win came at the of a 100 miles training week as he steps up his preparations for the UTMB which covers 105 miles and goes through the night.
“Sunday’s marathon was great training for the race,” added Hall.
Hall flew into Geneva this week to recce the course in preparation for the UTMB.
