JOE Gentry won the fifth and final race in the 32nd annual Street 5k road race series on Wednesday night.
The North Somerset AC runner clocked a swift time of 15mins 52secs, a very reasonable time on a wet and windy night.
In the light of those conditions the time of 17:01 for club coach Julian Emery, to earn him the over 50s prize, was an impressive achievement.
According to the Power of 10 Emery races rarely these days and indeed this was his first outing since the Clevedon parkrun over two years ago but it just goes to show that quality always shines through – when it gets the chance!
On a good night for the club Sam Holloway finished top junior in 16:18.
PS: Emery’s athletes might like to know that his lifetime best over 5000m on the track is a very respectable 14:35.7.
