BRISTOL & West AC has reported the sad news of the death of young athlete Jack Bannister in a road traffic accident on 24th May.
Bannister ran for the club’s under-13 and under-15 boys’ teams between 2014 and 2016, taking a break due to injury.
Jack was a bundle of fun and mischief, kind and full of character, always ready for fun but equally always ready to run,” said club development officer Keith Brackstone.
“Jack will be greatly missed by our under-13, under-15 and under-17 boys, who are both stunned and saddened by the news. We plan to invite the boys to run the Windmill Junior parkrun in the coming weeks in a celebration of Jack’s life.
“Jack holds the course record at this event. As ever at this difficult time, our thoughts are with his family.”
