Charlotte roars to victory in the Longleat 10k

CHARLOTTE Taylor-Green races sparingly these days but when she comes out she shows she can still perform at a good level.

The Clevedon AC runner and gym instructor finished top woman in the Longleat 10k road race on Sunday, winning in a time of 37mins 28secs.

That’s not as quick as her last 10k, when she clocked 36:10 to finish runner-up in the Castle Combe 10k in November, but over a tough, undulating course it was a good effort and quick enough to place her sixth overall of the 910 finishers.

Wells City Harriers’ Nathan Young, who has also raced sparingly in recent years, reclaimed the title he previously won in 2020 (33:57) and 2018 (34:30) only this time had to settle for a slower 34:36.

Bristol & West AC’s Chris Neilson was third while Bitton Road Runners Gareth Clements shaved five seconds off his PB to finish fifth and top veteran.
