WITH the cross country season all but over Catie O’Donoghue switched her attention to multi terrain and headed to east Devon for the famous Grizzly event.
The Bristol & West AC runner (pictured centre) steered clear of the headline 20 miles challenge and opted instead for the shorter 9 miles Cub race, which nonetheless included some huge climbs and a long stretch over the pebbles on Branscombe beach.
Not that any of that deterred O’Donoghue as she finished fourth overall of the 589 finishers and easily top woman in 1hr 13mins, over 10 minutes clear of her nearest female rival.
Alan Wilcox of North Bristol Running Group finished 16th in 1:17.33.
There was further Bristol & West success in the full-blown Grizzly as Lucy McAlister, who lives nearby, finished second woman in 14th place overall of the 1,618 finishers completing the course in 2hrs 34mins 40secs.
Top woman was Mary Menon of Ilfracombe Running Club in 2:33.15.
