Can in-form Jenny hit top spot in the Bristol half?

JennySpink2014JENNY Spink will be heading the local challenge in the Bristol half marathon on Sunday.

The 34-year-old Bristol & West AC runner (pictured) goes into the race with her confidence high after clocking a PB of 34:07 in the Cardiff 10k last weekend.

Second last year Spink would dearly love to emulate clubmate Claire Hallisssey, who won the race five years ago, but the race always attracts a good class field with a smattering of African runners so making the leap to top of the podium won’t be easy.

“There are usually a couple of decent female runners on the start line so I know I will have to run out of my skin,” said Spink., who was second in the Bath half earlier this year.

Joining Spink in the elite women’s field will be former GB international Michelle Ross-Cope, who was runner-up in the Bristol 10k earlier this year while the leading Kenyan is Teresiah Omosa.
