Fab Five: Andy Watt, Josh Moody, Kurt Taylor, Harry Allen and Adam Wilson
FIVE Bristol & West AC runners had plenty of reason to celebrate their performances in the Telford 10k road race yesterday.
The race once again lived up to its billing as one of the quickest in the country with the top 17 finishing inside 30 minutes, 47 inside 31 minutes and a superb 92 runners beating the 32 minutes barrier.
That explains why runners travel from all around the country to the event and the Bristol & West group in this photo were no different as they took full advantage of the course and the benign conditions.
Biggest improvement of the day must surely go to Andy Watt, who slashed almost five minutes off his previous PB as he clocked 32mins 17secs to finish 102nd. His former PB was 37:09!
Highest club finisher Harry Allen progressed from 32:20 to 31:16 to place 63rd, Kurt Taylor broke 32 minutes for the first time as he clocked 31:36 (previous PB of 32:07) and Adam Wilson dipped under 34 minutes for the first time with 33:41.
Finally Josh Moody marked his first attempt at the distance with a very respectable time of 32:27 for 106th place.
Little wonder that these lads look very happy in the photo.
