Team Bath women make a big splash in the Bromham 10k

IT was a superb Team Bath AC one-two in the women’s race at the popular Bromham Xmas Pud 10k road race on Sunday.

Not only that but both winner Katrine Svane (pictured left) and runner-up Eilidh Bell ran personal bests with Svane shaving 23 seconds off her 2015 record with 37mins 13secs to move up to 16th in the South West Rankings.

Bell (pictured below right on top of the podium after winning the Bournemouth 10k) had been hoping to go under 38 minutes for the first time.

Ultimately she had to settle for 38:19 which nonetheless shaved 12 seconds off the time she ran to win the Bournemouth 10k two months ago with 38mins 19secs.

Westbury Harriers’ Lizzie Smith was seventh.

In the men’s race in-form Simon Nott broke his own course record with a time of 31mins 38secs as he led from gun to tape in an impressive solo performance.
