The perfect gift if you know someone who’s struggling with a long term injury or just looking to prevent injury our comprehensive biomechanical run assessment is suitable for all runners.
Whether they’re just starting out, taking part in local park runs or training for that next marathon, Iron man or personal best.
Biomechanics is the application of the mechanical laws of physics on the human body. Running mechanics, footwear, reduced range of joint motion & muscular imbalances can all alter the mechanical forces acting on the human body increasing mechanical stress & load above the levels at which soft tissues can tolerate, which can lead to pain, eventual breakdown & injury.
Our biomchanical run assessments aim to identify issues related to poor running mechanics, footwear, muscular imbalances along with identifying risk factors & potential causes of injury/pain. We provide in-depth musculoskeletal assessment of joint range of motion, muscular strength & posture along with providing advanced gait analysis using state of the art Optogait System plus Dartfish Video Analysis for run technique feedback.
Following the assessment & if required we can then provide
- Footwear Advice & Prescription
- Run Technique Advice
- Strength & Conditioning Exercises
- Prescription Foot Orthoses.
Please remember to bring with you appropriate clothing, current running footwear & details of operations or injuries (fractures, sprains or strains), medical conditions & medications. If you have copies of scans, X-rays or letters then please bring them too, they all maybe relevant.
