Liz and Tracey race to success in the Two Tunnels

LIZ Sanigar of Bitton Road Runners claimed the women’s prize in the Bath Two Tunnels 10k multi terrain race in Bath on Sunday.

Liz completed the course in a time of 40mins 16secs to finish just six seconds clear of Katherine Uphill from Frome Running Club with Lauren Price a distant third in 41:19.

In the men’s race Westbury Harriers’ Alan Uren finished fourth (35:15).

Westbury also showed up well in the 5k event claiming first and third places through veterans Ewan Paton (18:49) and Julian Bailey-Gard (19:10).

Continuing the local success top woman in the 5k was Tracey Horton of Emersons Green Running Club in 21:07.

Over in Bristol Horton’s clubmate Rebecca Attwood finished runner-up (54:45) in the River Avon Trail 10k behind runaway winner Lindsay Rosenthal (53:01) with Bitton RR’s Jane Rogers third (56:35).

Ian Shelley of Salisbury was overall winner (43:13) from Wayne Pearce and Wayne Southall.
