Laura lying fourth at halfway mark of Gloucestershire League

CLEVEDON AC’s Laura Meech followed up her fourth place in the opening Gloucestershire Cross Country League with another solid top ten performance in race two on Saturday.

With the action moving to Charlton Park, Wiltshire, Meech again got stuck in to arguably a stronger line-up and battled her way to seventh place.

So at the halfway stage of the league Meech lies fourth overall with a runner’s best three results from fourth counting towards the overall prizes.

Fiona Blackmore of Bitton Road Runners was 15th and first veteran over 40.

In the men’s race Clevedon’s Alex Crossland finished 13th with Jed Bartlett (23rd) and Luke Murray (27th) also making the top 30 as the club finished seventh.
