Fox takes bronze in British Students’ Championships

THERE was a strong showing from West County runners at the British Students Cross Country Championships held at Bicton Park, east Devon, on Saturday.

Making the podium in third place was former GB junior international Oliver Fox of Wells City Harriers (below right), who is a student at Cambridge University.

Hr was chased home, though the gap of 44 seconds ensured he was never in the hunt for a medal, by Bristol & West AC runner Will Christofi, (pictured left) of Oxford University, in fourth while clubmate Jack Millar also made the top ten in eighth.

Just behind him was Wells City Harriers’ Luke Prior, of St Mary’s University, as he played a big part in winning team gold while Stroud’s Tom Mortimer was 38th.

In the women’s race leading local runner was Westbury Harriers’ Floren Scrafton, representing Oxford University, in 26th place.
